The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission is expected to approve final annual changes to statewide fishing regulations when it meets later this week in Yuma, the agency announced in a news release.

The meeting, scheduled to take place beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Yuma Community Center, 421 E. Second Ave., also will provide commissioners with the opportunity to consider and approve Consumer Price Index adjustments of non-resident license fees for the 2013-2014 fishing season.

Following final approval of statewide fishing regulations and fees, the commission will receive briefings on upland bird habitat efforts, its Archery in the Schools program and the division’s 2013 marketing plan, according to the release.

The meeting will continue Friday morning when the commission receives its first briefing about proposed changes to big game hunting regulations for the 2013 big game seasons. The proposals will undergo further review before final approval at the January 2013 meeting in Denver, the release stated.

The commission is slated to conclude the Yuma meeting with votes on several herd management plans and a staff presentation on potential projects to protect private land wildlife habitat around the state, according to the release.
