Ice fishing tournament slated Sunday at Stagecoach Reservoir

Steamboat Great Outdoors is sponsoring an ice fishing tournament from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Stagecoach State Park.

The event is limited to 200 adult anglers and requires a registration fee of $30 to participate (or $25 if paid before the day of the tournament). Youth anglers can participate at no cost.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Oak Creek Fire Protection District, with cash prizes for tournament winners.

The tournament is limited to trout species.

Current Colorado Parks and Wildlife fishing regulations apply to all participants and vehicles will be required to display a valid state park pass. Carpooling is encouraged because of limited parking.

Participants will be allowed to use off-highway vehicles and snowmobiles on the reservoir for commuting to fishing destinations below the high water mark only.
