A proposed land swap between Colorado Parks and Wildlife and XTO Energy will be the topic of a Colorado Parks and Wildlife public presentation in Meeker, the agency reported in a news release.
The meeting will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, in the Meeker Service Center, 73485 Highway 64. Members of the public are invited to learn details about the proposal from wildlife managers, and will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss details about the swap, according to the release.
The proposed exchange will transfer 925 acres of the Piceance Creek State Wildlife Area, located along Rio Blanco County Road 5, to XTO Energy. In return, Colorado Parks and Wildlife will receive 1,992 acres located approximately seven miles north of the state wildlife area, off Rio Blanco County Roads 142 and 143, the release stated.
